Three times a day… Dining
|
“Even in a formal dining room you don’t want to be ponderous or gloomy. Eating is really one of your indoor sports. You play three times a day, and it’s well worthwhile to make the game as pleasant as possible.”
Dorothy Draper, “Decorating is Fun!: How to be your own decorator”

Willkommen auf Design Elements - mein Blog über Interior Design, Inneneinrichtung und Inspiration.

I want to sit on the chairs on the first photo and to admire the lamps, very beautiful.
Dorothy Draper was one smart dame. (Can you imagine what a delight it would be to have her join you at a dinner party?!)
Very stylish…I love the wooden tables..
Ingrid
These are all very chic in their own right. Very nice. Thanks.
Priscilla
The first photo is amazing! I love the simplicity of the table, the clean lines of the chairs and OF COURSE the chandelier – wow! And I agree with the quote – eating is definitely an indoor sport that I enjoy!
Wow gorgeous dining tables! The first one is very beautiful but not for three times a day I think. The chairs are so chic! Love the wooden tables and the big photo on the wall in the second image. Very cosy interiors:)
What beautiful dining tables. They are almost too beautiful to eat on, but I probably could force myself to do so.
Das letzte Foto ist mein absoluter Favorit. Die Mischung von Modernem Design, Gründerzeitstühlen und Moderner Kunst ist spektakulär.
Un saludo!
What a fantastic blog you have! I’m so glad you left a comment on The French Mouse House so I could find you!
Lovely! Especially the first one. Love the table and the light fixtures
The wooden tables are gorgeous.
Lovely post.
Have a nice dinner, tonight!
Hugs
Tereza
Hello, thank you for visiting my blog and lovely comment. Thank you for “showing” me your interesting blog, too
Hugs
Love the last photo with the gilded french little chairs in that ultra modern kitchen! Such gorgeous tension of styles.
I see that Hope Ava from French Mouse has also joined you. Now we are all among familiar friends!
Tanke!

yes
a delight! a dinner party with all the “The Great Lady Decorators: The Women Who Defined Interior Design” as feat. in Adam Lewis’ book…
so nice selection!!!!! love the second one!!!!! xoxo
And what would be your table for a diner or a lunch , brunch etc? I believe that it would be the third picture for me !
These are all great Maria! I’m so loving the clip on lights in the 2nd pic. Such a unique idea!
My Wednesday was lovely, hope yours was too!
Oh I love the rustic and homey dining set in the 2nd photo!

I love that quote and I love that Audrey picture!!!
I love the first dining room. I want that table – it’s beautiful – the rest of the room isn’t too shabby either! Hope you are having a great day, Stephie x
Gorgeous images – and such meals you´d have there!
Oh I’d be so delighted to dine in any of those fab dining spaces…the last one is so gorgeous:)
What a lovely quote! I am fond of food and believe that your dining space must reflect your love. What a lovely collection of images.
Wow, alles sind sehr toll!
Oh, mein Deutsch ist nicht perfekt, aber ich muss üben und ich probiere einfach abfassen.
we are definitely lacking a nice dining room, so this made me dream
Love the quote and all the images. Since we eat most of the time in our kitchen, I guess that’s where I should spend my creative energy!! That first room is spectacular!!
Just Beautiful! Thanks for sharing.
Great pictures. I love the lighting in the first, and the clean white lines in the last!
I hope you are having a great week.
Xo,
E&J
very good inspiration, nice ideas and stylish rooms,
http://www.blog-bloggers.com
….and these rooms are anything but boring…
so gorgeous…
maureen
That table in the first picture is AMAZING! Love it! I can’t imagine having a dining room that pretty.
Love the light pouring in the last spaces, and that wonderful trick of using a bright image (flower in the vase) to make a darker space light up. My business partner put a giant photo of a sunny breakfast table on a darker corner of the room where he eats and it is such a wonderful illusion of light! Beautiful post as always!
xo Mary Jo
Wonderful quote and these dining rooms are TDF! Beautiful!! XX
@ Elif
biba dani
mhm… kam mein kommentar an?
oh gosh, the lights in that first picture are breathtaking!
just wanted to stop in and thank you for your kind sentiment. much appreciated.
lovely post!

These rooms are just gorgeous!! And I found the interview to be quite interesting. I loved the post on eating and dining rooms too. Very inspiring photos!
Donna

Would love to have something similar one day
love love LOVE this style!!!
thanks a lot!!!
qué bonitas propuestas, sin duda, la tercera es mi favorita!!
feliz fin de semana
I would love a big wooden table. Great selection of beautiful ones…
Lovely images. And that’s the first time I’ve ever seen large-scale hex tiles that I felt really worked.
